Waterfowl Watch at Green Lane Park

The Winter Birding Extravaganza at Green Lane Park will make a total of three stops at various points around the reservoir. The group will initially meet at the Knight Lake Parking Area at 1pm. From here, the group will walk along the Perkiomen Trail while scanning the flats of Knight Lake. After a good search at Knight Lake, the group will drive to the Walt Road Parking Area. Lastly, the group will finish with a final stop at Church Road Parking Area. The group can expect to see a variety of ducks and other water birds such as the Mallard, American Black Duck, Northern Pintail, Northern Shoveler, Gadwall, American Wigeon, Wood Duck, Ruddy Duck, Ring-necked Duck, Green-winged Teal, Bufflehead, Hooded Merganser, and the Common Merganser. Expert birders will be on hand to assist in bird location and identification. Be sure to dress warm, bring your binoculars, and bring a friend!
